Temperature

MADURAI JUNE 1 . The city today registered a maximum temperature of 36.6 degree Celsius and a minimum of 24.9 degree Celsius.

Water level

The level in the Periyar dam stood at 112.40 feet with a storage of 1,295 mcft and an inflow of 185 cusecs. The level in the Vaigai dam was 25.62 feet with a discharge of 30 cusecs. The combined Periyar credit was 1,441 mcft. Kuppanampatti received 12 mm of rainfall and the Sathaiyar dam 2 mm.

Grievances day

The consumers of Tamukkam, Teppam, Munichalai, Arasamaram, Race Course, Sellur and Tagore Nagar could air their grievances at a grievances day meeting to be held in the office of the TNEB Executive Engineer (North) between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. on June 3.

Yoga programme

The Gandhi Museum will organise a month-long training programme in yogasana, pranayama, meditation and balanced diet from June 3. Classes will start at 5 a.m., 6 a.m. and 5 p.m. The 10.30 a.m. batch will be for women. Those above 13 years can join the programme.

Blood donation

The Canara Bank, the Noble Trust, the Indian Red Cross Society and the Government Rajaji Hospital conducted a blood donation camp recently. The Deputy General Manager, S. S. Baskaran, Velusamy and V. M. Jose took part.
