Police officials transferred

CHENNAI: The Government on Saturday transferred three deputy commissioners of police Greater Chennai to other police districts within the city.

G. Karthikeyan, who was hitherto DCP, Kilpauk, has been shifted to Flower Bazaar succeeding S.N.Seshasai who has been posted as DCP, T.Nagar.

S.Murugan, who was till now DCP, T.Nagar is the new DCP, Kilpauk police district.

College convocation

The ninth convocation of CPCL Polytechnic College was held on Wednesday at the CPCL R&D Auditorium at Manali. R.Sankaran, Managing Director distributed the diploma certificates to 81 students. So far, 445 students from DPCE and 70 students DME have passed out of this institute.

Health camp

Surima Medical Centre, in association with SRL-Ranbaxy Medical Laboratories is conducting a `Family Health Champion Medical Camp' from December 5 to December 18.

World Aids Day observed

The NSS unit of GSS Jain College observed World Aids Day on December 1. Dr.N.Kavitha, Medical Officer, AIDS Cell, IOG was the chief guest. A slogan contest was held on `Aids Awareness Programme'.

Prize winner

J. Santosh, a class IX student of Sri Tarachand Galada Jain Vidyalaya bagged the first prize in the inter-school Bhagwad Gita recitation competition, in which 400 students from various city schools took part.

Adoption awareness

An adoption awareness programme was organised by Christian Faith Home for children, Manapakkam on Wednesday. The programme aimed at creating awareness about adoption, among the public.

Eye camp

Free eye-screening camp Sunayana Eye Clinic, Neelankarai is conducting a free eye-screening camp at the Tamil Nadu Mercantile Bank, Thiruvanmiyur for staff and customers on Sunday.
