Power shutdown

CHENNAI: Power supply will be suspended on Thursday between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. in parts of Mandaveli and Virugambakkam due to maintenance work.

Red Cross plea

Cash stolen from

two-wheeler box

A sum of Rs. 3.50 lakhs was stolen from the side box of a two-wheeler parked in Ambattur.

Premkumar, a resident of Otteri, had entered a juice shop with his wife after withdrawing the money from a nationalised bank in Ambattur. When he and his wife returned, the box was found open and the cash was missing, police said.

The victim lodged a complaint with the Ambattur police and investigations are on.
