A lesson?

The present debate on the unauthorised occupation of government accommodation by VVIPs takes me back to a different era. C. Rajagopalachari, the last Governor-General of India, handed over office to Rajendra Prasad, the first President of India, and was ready to leave the capital. When some close friends requested him to stay for a few days, he smiled and said, "how can there be two Rajas in one capital?"

Similarly, Rajendra Prasad left for Sadakat Ashram in Bihar soon after S. Radhakrishnan took over. A lesson in this for our present-day politicians?
