Welfare board for cooks demanded

COIMBATORE: The Tamil Nadu Samayal Thozhilalar Munnetra Sangham has urged all the cooks in the State to send post cards to the State Government demanding a welfare board for them. In a release, the association said the Chief Minister had said that each district should have at least 1,000 members for the formation of the board.


Hence, it urged all cooks in hotels, canteens, hostels, eateries, sweet stalls, and marriage halls, private cooks and pani puri sellers to enrol in the board when formed.


All cooks aged between 18 and 60 should be enrolled in the board, it said. The association also decided to identify those aged above 60 and take steps so that they got pension.
