Vaiko and partymen's gesture

VIRUDHUNAGAR: Marumalarchi Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam general secretary, Vaiko, and his partymen played a good Samaritan and rushed three accident victims to hospital on Thursday night.

The party Virudhunagar MLA, R. Varadarajan, who accompanied the leader on his way from Sivakasi to Madurai at around 10.30 p.m., noticed vehicle off the road at Amathur.

Convoy stopped

Mr. Vaiko stopped the convoy in which several party leaders from Madurai and Virudhunagar districts were coming. The party cadres broke opened the glass panes and pulled out the injured out. Two of them had suffered fractures in their limbs and were rendered immobile inside the vehicle, Mr. Varadarajan said.

Mr. Vaiko also accompanied the injured to the Government hospital here. He remained at the hospital till they were given medical care and left for Madurai at around 11.30 p.m., the MLA said.
