University students donate blood

A total of 300 students of VIT University donated blood at a blood donation camp organised by the Youth Red Cross (YRC) of the University at the VIT campus here on Thursday. G. Viswanathan, VIT Chancellor inaugurated the camp in the presence of Sankar Viswanathan, Vice-President (Administration), VIT, K. Chidambaram, Director, Students' Welfare, VIT and Susheela Suryaprakash, honorary secretary, Indian Red Cross Society, Vellore District Branch.

Of the 300 students, 180 donated blood to the Christian Medical College Hospital and 120 to the Government Vellore Medical College Hospital.

V.G. Sridhar, YRC Faculty Coordinator organised the camp. Shail, YRC student secretary and his team helped in the camp arrangements.
