In the 25 science disciplines, Coimbatore colleges have six toppers



Those in Government colleges too have proved their mettle

This year women have outshone men



COIMBATORE: Like last year, the undergraduate results of Bharathiar University have disproved that only city colleges always churn out the best. As compared to their city counterparts, district and mofussil colleges have come up with toppers in most of the subjects. Besides the students in private colleges, those in the Government colleges too have proved their mettle.

While most of the toppers were women last year, this year they have outshone the men.

Competition

Earlier, it was a competition between them in 18 science and 16 arts and commerce disciplines. This year it was in 25 science and 18 arts and commerce disciplines.

In the 25 science disciplines, Coimbatore colleges have six toppers. Among the toppers, 22 are women. Following are those who have stood first in the subjects mentioned in brackets:

Suganya R (Mathematics), L.R.G. Government Arts College for Women, Rajathi Y (Advanced Zoology and Bio-Technology (Vocational)), L.R.G. Government Arts College for Women, Kalaivani S (BCA), Tirupur Kumaran College for Women, Divya M (Microbiology), Tirupur Kumaran College for Women, Kalaivani S (Physics with Computer Applications), L.R.G. Government Arts College for Women, all from Tirupur.

Gowdhami S (Statistics), C B M College, Saranya P (Bio-Chemistry), Shri Nehru Maha Vidyalaya College of Arts and Science, Swetha Soman (Biotechnology), Hindusthan College of Arts and Science, Murali Krishnan K S (Electronics and Communication Systems), Sri Krishna Arts and Science College, Noufal N (Clinical Laboratory Technology), Dr. N G P Arts and Science College, Sri Aruna Saranya Kilaru (Costume Design and Fashion), Bishop Appasamy College of Arts and Science, all from Coimbatore.

City colleges

In the nine arts disciplines, three toppers are from city colleges. Here too, women have outshone the men. Following are those who have stood first:
