Two arrested in leather theft case

AMBUR: Two persons have been arrested in connection with theft of leather from a tannery unit at Sandorkuppam near here on Monday.

According to the police, the company staff had kept leather worth Rs. 50,000 in a safety room and sealed it. On Monday, the staff in charge of the godown found the seal tampered with and the leather stolen.

However, it was recovered from an autorickshaw parked inside the unit.

A complaint was lodged at the Ambur town police station. Following investigation, the police arrested the company’s security men, Sivasankaran (34) and Murugesan (43).
