Udhagamandalam: Under a scheme of the Tamil Nadu Adi-dravida Housing and Development Corporation (TAHDCO), it is proposed to help persons belonging to the Scheduled Caste communities obtain international driving licences, said the Nilgiris Collector Santosh K.Misra here on Thursday.

Aspirants should be in the age group 18-35 and be in possession of driving licences and badges. They would be imparted training for three months on the Ashok Leyland premises in Namakkal. Campus interviews would be held.

It was also proposed to provide three month training in construction related activities to 100 adi-dravida persons aged between 18 and 35 on the L and T premises in Chennai. During the training period, food and accommodation would be provided free of charge, he stated in a release.

Applications should be submitted to District Manager, TAHDCO, Khadi Craft complex, Charing Cross, Ooty before April 20.
