Tension at Nambianpalayam

Tirupur: Tension prevailed at Nambianpalayam near here on Sunday after a quarrel between two persons over some trivial issue.

Muthusamy, village panchayat president, allegedly clashed with Jaganathan, a weaver. The situation became tense after supporters of the two persons gathered there. A team of officials led by Superintendent of Police N. Kannan and Revenue Divisional Officer (Tirupur) P. Murugesh rushed to the spot and pacified the crowd.

Mr. Kannan told reporters here that Muthusamy and Jaganathan were arrested from a hospital where they were admitted for minor injuries. — Staff Reporter
