CUDDALORE: Tamil Nadu Congress Committee president M. Krishnasswamy has expressed the hope that Tamil Nadu and Karnataka will amicably solve the stalemate over the implementation of the Hogenakkal water supply scheme.

At a press conference at Chidambaram on Sunday, he said that soon after assuming office, Chief Minister B.S. Yedyurappa vowed to protect Karnataka’s rights over water, land and language. The river water, Mr. Krishnasswamy said, was a common asset, and no single State could claim an exclusive right to it.
