Syndicate Bank organises customers meet

SALEM: The town branch of Syndicate Bank organised a customers' meet as a part its Customers' Fortnight celebrations.

Speakers highlighted the loan schemes, community development programmes and various services of the bank to the participants. Presiding over the meet, Senior Manager Pinageeswaran promised that the bank would continue to extend best services to its customers. Community organiser Gandhi Rajani spoke on the formation of self-help groups. The town branch is promoting 25 SHGs.

The bank officials explained core banking solution, e-banking, debit and credit card services.

Complicated surgery

A city hospital performed a complicated surgery to remove an iron rod that pierced through the chest of a 24-year-old woman tourist in an accident near Omlaur recently. A press release from the Providence Speciality Hospitals said Gopalini Saradha, resident of Guntur was on her way to Yercaud in a bus, when a lorry collided with the vehicle. The iron rod pierced through the top of her right arm, entered the chest and came out through back.

A team of doctors led by senior surgeon T. Gnanasekaran performed a two-hour long surgery and removed the iron rod.
