‘Land in Kavundichipalayam village not being put to proper use’

ERODE: The AIADMK is intact and ready to face Parliamentary elections whenever conducted, for which there are “some indications”, said former AIADMK Minister and the party’s Organising Secretary S. Muthusamy on Saturday at Surampatty, a suburb of Erode.

He was leading a demonstration conducted by the AIADMK against the Surampatty Grade Three Municipality.

Land

Mr. Muthusamy said when the AIADMK chairman was heading the Surampatty Grade Three Municipality, it had purchased one hectare of land in Kavundichipalayam village near Erode to dispose of the Surampatty area garbage and segregate the garbage into degradable and non-degradable.

But now it is not used and some malpractice was going on in the place.

It was being dug up, red soil was being collected and sold.

Further, the garbage was being deposited in the Surampatty burial ground, which is causing nuisance to thousands of people in the area.

He said that in accordance with the instructions of AIADMK leader J. Jayalalithaa, the demonstration was being conducted. Such demonstrations had been conducted by the AIADMK for various irregularities taking place in some other Municipal and panchayat areas.

This was to point out the commissions and omissions of the Government and rectify matters. He said some misunderstandings were growing among the Congress-allied parties at the Centre, so he was expecting a snap poll to be conducted soon.

He said the AIADMK was ready to face the election and would secure a majority of the seats in Tamil Nadu, for, he said, the public was backing the AIADMK.

Former Minister P.C. Ramasamy, Erode district AIADMK secretary K.V. Ramalingam, former MLAs V.K. Chinnasamy, S. Balakrishnan, Selvi Murugesan and thousands of AIADMK members participated in the demonstration.
