CHENNAI: Accusing the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam government of taking a soft line on activities of the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam and naxalites, All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam general secretary Jayalalithaa said in statement here on Tuesday that Tamil Nadu had become a godown for arms.

Ms Jayalalithaa said the recovery of cartridges from a well in the Sri Lankan Tamil refugee camp in Gummidipoondi had proved her allegations right.

“Bombs are going off regularly. Weapons and walkie-talkies are being taken away from the police stations. People wonder whether there is a government in the State,” she said.
