24 panchayats selected for Nirmal Gram Puraskar

TIRUCHI: The district administration has decided to hold special camps at the firka level to expedite the process of issuing patta name transfers and to clear the backlog of applications.

The special camps would be held once every fortnight at all the 41 firkas and an officer in the rank of a deputy collector would monitor the process, the Collector, Ashish Vachhani told reporters here on Tuesday. Currently, applications for patta name transfers have to be submitted at the taluk offices, which often leads to delays. About 3,000 applications were pending in the district and there has been a widespread demand for expediting the process.

The schedule of the camps would be notified and publicised. Applications seeking sub-divisions and survey of property boundaries can also be submitted at the camps, Mr. Vachhani said.

All the 1,673 houses sanctioned under the Indira Awas Yojana would be completed by May 15. Already, 600 houses have been constructed.

The Anaithu Grama Anna Marumalarchi Thittam would be implemented in 82 panchayats in the district this year. All the 408 village panchayats would be covered under the scheme over a five-year period and each panchayat would get an average allocation of Rs.92 lakhs.
