Regularise our services: Guest lecturers

Staff Reporter

MADURAI: Guest lecturers working in government colleges in four southern districts staged a demonstration here on Saturday.

They urged the State Government to regularise their services. More than 100 guest lecturers took part in the demonstration and put forth their demands.

According to J. Martin Jayaprakash, deputy secretary, nearly 1,173 guest lecturers are awaiting the government nod and several of them have been working for about six years. The vacancies in all government arts and science colleges must be filled soon and the practice of giving consolidated pay must be stopped.
