Recruitment drive to be held at varsity on March 17,18

MADURAI: The Madurai Kamaraj University will organise a campus recruitment drive on March 17 and 18 to select candidates for the Business Process Outsourcing division of the Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) in Chennai.

Final year students of B. Com., B. Sc., B.A. and BBM courses of affiliated colleges can participate in the recruitment drive that will take place on its campus.

The Vice-Chancellor, P. Maruthamuthu, told reporters here on Thursday that the company would recruit suitable candidates for the position of process associate in the BPO division.

According to PR. Athappan, Dean (Industrial Consultancy), the final year B. Com. and BBM students could register their names and go through the selection process of written test/ personal interview on March 17.

For B.A. and B.Sc. students, the recruitment process would be held on March 18.

The eligibility condition was that the student should have scored 60 per cent aggregate marks up to the fifth semester and candidates would be particularly tested in communicative English skills, Dr. Athappan said.

Those who want to take part in the recruitment drive could register with three sets of bio-data and three passport size photographs besides photocopies of mark-sheets.

The salary offered by the company would range from Rs.12,000 to Rs.14,000 per month.

Other companies that have lined up for absorbing the students, include SRF, which would conduct a placement programme on March 22 and 23 for M.Sc. (Chemistry) students.

Satyam Computer Services would conduct a recruitment drive for M.Sc. (CS) and MCA students the dates of which will be announced later.
