Rally against child labour taken out

RAMANTHAPURAM: A rally against child labour was taken out here on Tuesday.

The District Judge Jayapalan flagged off the rally. K. Balasubramaniam, District Revenue Officer, Additional District Judge Mayandi and others took part. The participants raised slogans against child labour.

They marched through important streets, including Kenikarai, bus stand, Government Headquarters Hospital and others.

The rally was organised by the District Legal Services Committee. The children carried placards and banners stressing the need for enrolling all students below 14 years in schools.

They also urged the people not to employ child labourers in their establishments, houses, restaurants, hotels, brick kilns and others. Prizes were distributed to those performed well in various competitions conducted against child labour.
