MADURAI: Public having knowledge about the incident of police firing near the Madurai-Ramanathapuram police check post in which two persons Kavi alias Kaviarasu (35) and Kalmandayan alias Murugan (32) were killed may write to the Revenue Divisional Officer on or before March 10, according to a release.

According to a press release, the two persons who were riding a stolen two-wheeler did not stop the vehicle at the check post. Instead, they attacked the police personnel on duty. In the process, sub-inspector Thennarasu and policeman Ganesan were injured. In a bid to nab the two accused, Assistant Commissioner of Police Vellathurai opened fire from the service pistol. In a serious condition, Kaviarasu and his accomplice Murugan were taken to the government hospital, but they were declared ‘brought dead’.

In this connection, public may submit their views to the office of the RDO for inquiry, the release added.
