COIMBATORE: Over 3,000 children from 60 schools participated in the Jetix Action League 2.0 - Powered by Boost, a sports event organised by Jetix television channel and Boost in the city recently.

According to a release from the organisers, the event was aimed at helping children interpret action in a positive way through unconventional games, teamwork and a spirit of adventure.

It would encourage youngsters to go out and play.

The games included ‘belly ball relay,’ ‘wheel barrow relay,’ ‘frog race,’ ‘tug of war,’ ‘kings and guards,’ ‘Frisbee soccers’ and the ‘30 legged race’.

Last year, the event received more than 12,000 participants from Chennai, Bangalore and Hyderabad. From this year, it is being held in Coimbatore and Vishakapatnam too.

The winning team in each would be awarded the title, ‘Jetix Action League Champion 2.0,’ a ‘Jetix Action League Games Trophy’ and a grant of Rs.1 lakh towards the development of the school.


Participating teams could win prizes for the best cheerleading team, team with the best painted faces and the loudest school team.
