Pathology club formed

COIMBATORE: Lister Metropolis Laboratory and Research Centre has formed a pathology club.


“The club will be a platform for knowledge-sharing and continuing medical education for pathologists, biochemists, microbiologists and other professionals involved in clinical lab medicine,” Nilesh Shah, Director of Metropolis Health Services (India), told reporters.


At a meeting organised at the PSG Medical College here on Saturday, the club invited doctors and pathologists from various hospitals in and around Coimbatore who attended it. Interactive discussions and presentations of clinical cases were made.


A lecture on “Interpretation of Thyroid Reports,” was given by C.N.Srinivas, vice president (Operations), Lister Metropolis.


A seminar on the “Diagnosis and Management of Foetal Anomalies” was also organised by the centre. A presentation on prenatal diagnostics with focus on ‘triple marker tests’ was given. The focus of the discussion was on prevention of Down’s Syndrome, Edward’s Syndrome and related congenital anomalies through early detection and intervention.
