PUDUKOTTAI: Four South Korean films directed by Kim Ki Duk were screened at TNGEA Hall by Pudukai Film Society on Sunday.

The Bow’ (2005), ‘ Three Iron’ (2004), ‘ Samaritan Girl’ (2004) and ‘ Summer, Autumn, Winter, Spring’ (2003) showcased the rapidly changing lifestyle in that country.

Mr. Kim has received best director award at Berlin Film International and Venice Film International for Samaritan Girl and ‘ Three Iron.’ The Bow is about an old man and young girl who live in a secluded boathouse.

Even as they agree to get wedded when the girl turns 17, the introduction of a young man brings about a twist. ‘Samaritan Girl’ is about a teenager who gets into prostitution owing to financial crisis with the help of her friend.

Into its 20th year, the film society has screened over 300 internationally acclaimed films and has been revived after a brief lull , said its founder-secretary S. Ilango.
