The ‘external members' include the presidents of industrial associations like Tirupur Industrial Federation, Knit Cloth Manufacturers' Association, Dyers Association of Tirupur, and bank officials including the Lead Bank Manager.

The ‘internal members' were chairman, vice-chairman, principal and three select-faculty members of the NIFT-TEA institute.

Inaugurating the cell, Raja Shanmugam of NIFT-TEA College of Knitwear Fashion said that a series of symposiums and awareness programmes would be conducted by EDC to empower the youth to take up new business ventures.

“They will be taught to prepare ‘bankable' project proposals which are essential to obtain credit for the ventures,” he added.
