VIRUDHUNAGAR: Full-fledged operations resumed at the new bus stand here on Sunday. Minister for Backward Classes and Handlooms K.K.S.S.R. Ramachandran oversaw the commencement of operations in the presence of Collector K. Raghupathi and other officials.

Speaking to reporters, Mr. Ramachandran said that the long pending demand of the people to make better use of the new bus stand had been fulfilled. The Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam government would keep up all its promises made to the people.

The officials would monitor the functioning of the new bus stand for about a month and carry out improvements, if needed, he said. From Sunday, all buses would leave from the new bus stand and pass through the old bus stand and proceed to the respective destinations, Mr. Ramachandran said.

The public could offer suggestions for improvement in the new facility.
