Says students failed to produce B.Tech. mark list

Kozhikode: The National Institute of Technology, Calicut (NIT-C), has said that counselling for M.Tech. courses at the institute was not disrupted on Tuesday.

There were reports that counselling was disrupted following “denial of seats to Keralites” as alleged by some students and their parents.

In a press release, A.P. Shashikala, Chairperson, Postgraduate Admissions, NIT-C, said these students were unable to produce the mark lists of the B.Tech. seventh-semester examinations. Universities in the State had not distributed the mark lists for the batch that passed out this year.

But the institute had given provisional admission to those eligible from these universities considering their Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering score.

Ms. Shashikala said the institute had given time up to July 23, when classes began, for producing the mark lists.

Vacant seats available till July 25 would be allotted to eligible applicants in a spot admission session at 10 a.m. on July 26.

The GATE score of those who attend the session would be taken into account.
