Mock drill demonstrates preparedness to tackle fire

Staff of the LPG bottling plant of BPCL demonstrate their fire-fighting capabilities in case of such an emergency

Tuticorin: In a bid to raise awareness about disaster control management plan, the LPG Bottling plant of Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited in Tuticorin conducted a mock drill on Tuesday on its premises in the presence of G. Muralidharan, Deputy Chief Inspector of Factories, Tuticorin. The LPG leak from sphere drain valve was assumed as the scenario for the mock fire drill.

Staff and officers of the plant demonstrated their fire fighting capabilities in case of such emergency at the initial stage of an incident to douse the flames.

Subsequently, the fire service personnel rushed to the spot following the information and carried out rescue operations.

Mutual aid members from Indian Oil Corporation, Sterlite Industries and SHV LPG India private Limited participated in the drive.

Later, a review meeting was convened in which the members, who offered their sugestions, gave their feedback. S. Dhanapal Territory Manager, K. Ravindra, Territory coordinator and other executives of BPCL were present.
