CHENNAI: A businessman has lodged a complaint with the police that his accountant was absconding with Rs.8 lakh he had given to deposit in a bank on Tuesday.
According to police sources, Manoj Jain of Sowcarpet, who is into iron scrap wholesale business, had given the money to his accountant, Rajesh Chowdhary, to deposit in a private bank. As the money was not credited into the account the next day, he made an enquiry with him.
Rajesh told Jain that two other employees, Prakash Patel and Bharath, had taken the money with a promise that they would return it later. All the three are absconding.
