Chennai: Each seafarer is an ambassador of the country who works shoulder to shoulder with people of many countries who may not know much about India. Seafarers have to prove their excellence and exhibit inter-personal relations with all on board, said Ajoy Chatterjee, Chief Surveyor-cum Additional Director General of Shipping, here on Friday. Addressing students of the Academy of Maritime Education and Training on the occasion of the passing-out function of the third batch of BE (Marine Engineering) cadets, Mr. Chatterjee said marine engineers had a tremendous responsibility as they had to work in merchant ships belonging to different countries. Mr. Chatterjee commissioned ‘ship-in-campus.’
