MDMK condemns rise in fuel prices

VIRUDHUNAGAR: Over 100 cadres of Marumalarchi Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam staged a demonstration protesting against the increase in prices of petroleum products here on Tuesday.

The party district secretary, R.M. Shanmugasundaram, led the protest in which the party MLAs, R. Varadarajan and R. Gnanadoss, took part.

The agitators demanded rollback of the increased price of petrol, diesel and cooking gas cylinders.

In a separate agitation, the cadres of Viduthalai Sirthaigal Katchi called for withdrawal of the hike of price of petroleum products.

The party district organiser, Sathuragiri, led his partymen.

Dindigul

A total of 120 cadres staged a demonstration before the Revenue Divisional Office here on Tuesday demanding hike in price of petroleum and diesel. They raised slogans against the Central Government. Similar demonstration was staged at Uthamapalayam in Theni district.
