Lawyers to boycott courts

VELLORE: Lawyers in Vellore have decided to boycott all courts here on Wednesday and Thursday, for two different reasons on each day.

A resolution was adopted at an extraordinary general body meeting of The Bar Association, Vellore, held under the presidentship of M. Baskaran, president of the association, here on Tuesday.

The association resolved that its members would stay away from all courts in Vellore on Wednesday in support of the Bar Association, Sholinghur, whose members were protesting against “police atrocity” on N.G. Parthiban, an advocate of Sholinghur.

It resolved to stay away from all courts here on Thursday protesting against non-availability of court fee stamps.
