Key candidates file nominations

Coimbatore: As many as 12 candidates, including the dummy candidates, filed their nomination papers for the Coimbatore Lok Sabha seat on Thursday.

The notable candidates include R. Prabhu ( Congress), G.K.S. Selvakumar (Bharatiya Janata Party), E.R. Eswaran (Kongunadu Munnetra Peravai), K. Ramasubramanian (Bahujan Samaj Party).



Annadurai, an Independent candidate, came with bandages symbolically representing the plight of Tamils in Sri Lanka created a furore.

For Pollachi Lok Sabha seat, a total of eight candidates filed 11 papers.

With this the total number of candidates in Pollachi has gone to 21. The notable nominations in Pollachi included Kongunadu Munnetra Peravai, Bharatiya Janata Party and Desiya Murpokku Dravidar Kazhagam.
