Karunanidhi’s appeal to Orissa government

CHENNAI: Chief Minister M. Karunanidhi on Saturday requested the Orissa and the Central governments to take necessary steps to ensure that the violent incidents in that State did not continue further.

In a statement, he said the governments should put an end to the violence before it spread to other districts. While conveying his sympathies to the affected families, he urged all sections of society to extend their cooperation for establishing a cordial atmosphere and communal harmony. — Special Correspondent
