Kanimozhi urges industrialists to take active part in job fair

TIRUCHI: Making an appeal to industrialists to take an active part in the mega job fair in Tiruchi slated for February 19 to 21, in Tiruchi, DMK MP Kanimozhi on Monday assured industry representatives at a meeting that they would be given a free hand to recruit candidates conforming to their expectations.

“We will not make any recommendations and there will be no compulsion or pressure on industries to recruit candidates,” assured Ms. Kanimozhi.

She exuded hope that the ‘Kalaignar 86’ Fair would in the first place, serve the purpose of providing the over one lakh registered candidates, below 30 years, an ideal exposure to the requirements of the local job market.


The recruitments will be categorised and made separately for graduates, professionals, and those with Diploma, ITI and Plus Two qualifications at the entry free fair, she said.

Sufficient stalls will be made available for industries free of cost, Ms. Kanimozhi said during her interaction with representatives of Confederation of Indian Industry, Tiruchi Zone, BHEL Small Industries’ Association, and Tiruchi District Tiny and Small Scale Industries’ Association.

Ms. Kanimozhi was accompanied by the State Transport Minister K.N. Nehru and the District Collector T. Soundiah.
