700 primary school students participate in rally for enrolment

TIRUCHI: The intensive enrolment campaign, with over 700 primary school students, got off to a start with a pep talk of teachers.

Having assembled at the school grounds to attend the hour-long function of free distribution of notebooks and textbooks, the children were in a pressing mood to reach home early.

The schoolteachers went on a quick one-to-one talk with the students, urging them to "behave well in front of bureaucrats and political personalities."

Docile children dutifully ended the rally at Bishop Heber Higher Secondary School, Teppakulam, and waited for the `disperse signal' from their teachers.
