CHENNAI: Wednesday was the hottest day this month in the city with the mercury level soaring to 37 degree Celsius in Nungambakkam and 37.7 degree Celsius in Meenambakkam. According to Meteorological Department, Chennai witnessed such high temperature level in 2006 when the mercury level touched 37.1 degree Celsius. It forecast that the maximum temperature in the city would be 37 degree Celsius on Thursday too.
