Certified Network Engineer programme to be offered in 3 packages

CHENNAI: HCL Infosystems Limited on Thursday inaugurated a branch of its training arm HCL Career Development Center at Anna Nagar here. This is the company's second training centre in the State and first in the city.

State Electricity Minister Arcot N.Veerasamy launched the facility at Diamond Plaza on Anna Nagar Second Avenue. Senior representatives of HCL Infosystems, including associate vice-president STM Eswar, were present.

Speaking to presspersons after the inauguration, Mr. Eswar said HCL's foray into training comes in the backdrop of the huge employment demand in both IT and IT-enabled sectors. He pointed out that a study by Cisco-IDC estimated that one-third of companies in the country were not able to meet their requirement for networking professionals. Also according to an estimate by E-Value, the demand for networking professionals every year in the country was around two lakh professionals. The supply was limited to about 60 per cent of the demand.

Mr. Eswar said HCL Infosystems itself experienced the demand for qualified ICT (Information and Communication Technology) professionals. "We experience the demand for qualified professionals even within our group of companies. That is the main reason why we decided to get into training. It helps because we know the requirements better than anyone else."
