Government officials take national integration oath

91st birth anniversary of Indira celebrated

ARIYALUR: Collector R. Sudalaikannan inaugurated the National Integration Week at the Collectorate on Wednesday in connection with the 91st birth anniversary celebrations of the late prime minister Indira Gandhi by administering the oath of national integration to officials and employees of various departments.

District Revenue Officer M. Pulamadan and senior officials and employees of the departments of Revenue, Civil Supplies, Election Section, Mahalir Thittam, District Rural Development Agency, Horticulture and Agricultural Engineering took the oath.

Senior officials administered the oath to employees at the divisional and block levels.

Minorities Day, Linguistic Harmony Day, Weaker Section Day, Cultural Harmony Day, Women’s Day, and Environment Upkeep Day will be celebrated in the remaining part of the week.

Nirmal Gram Puraskar

The Collector said in a communication that 21 villages have been chosen for Nirmal Gram Puraskar by the Central Government upon recommendations of the State Government, on account of their performance in Total Sanitation Campaign.

They awardees comprise four villages in Ariyalur block; three each in Tirumanur, Senthurai and T. Pazhur blocks; six in Jayankondam; and two in Andimadam block.

Award function in Pune

The heads of these panchayats will receive the award from the President on December 8 in Pune.
