Fire in goods train

Fire broke out in two of the forty wagons in the goods train carrying coal from Tuticorin harbour to Pughalur on Wednesday. According to sources, the incident was reported to have occurred at around 2.10 p.m., when smoke was identified from the wagons near Milavittan Railway station. Fire service and rescue personnel doused the flame. One of the damaged wagons was left at the station. The train left Milavittan station around 3.45 p.m. However, no casualty has been reported.
