Want the Government to permit them tap toddy

KRISHNAGIRI: Members of the Taminadu Vivasayigal Sangam affiliated to Communist Party of India (Marxist) staged demonstrations in three places in Krishnagiri district on Monday urging the State Government to increase the milk procurement price.

C. Munusamy, District President of the association, presided over the demonstration in Shoolagiri. The demonstration was held in front of the Shoolagiri Panchayat office.

The association also urged the Government to allow the farmers to tap toddy, , remunerative minimum support price (MSP) for sugarcane and sago.

X. Irudayaraj, District Secretariat member of the CPI (M) spoke. About 110 members participated.

In Denkanikottai, the demonstration was held before the taluk office.

K.B. Munikrishnan, Taluk president of the association presided.

D. Raveendran, District President, Communist Party of India (Marxist) spoke. About 180 members participated.

In Uthangarai, 100 members, including 25 women participated in the demonstration held in front of the taluk office. V. Govindasamy, District Treasurer of the association presided. P. Sundaram, Taluk Secretary, CPI (M) spoke.
