Development works inspected

Nagapattinam: For the second consecutive day on Saturday, K. Arulmozhi, Secretary to Government, Personnel Administration and Reforms (Training) who is also the Monitoring Officer for the district, inspected various development works being implemented in several parts of the district.

Mr. Arulmozhi, accompanied by Collector Tenkasi S.Jawahar, inspected the construction of permanent houses for the tsunami-hit families in Tharangampadi area and other development works, including laying of roads and construction of new buildings for the schools in Mayiladuturai division.

On Friday, the Secretary along with Collector inspected various works and progress of welfare schemes in Nagapattinam, Kilvelur and Vedaranyam taluks. At Uthamachozhapuram he inspected the lands being acquired for free distribution and inspected the widening of Nagore-Nannilam-Nachiarkovil road.

Mr. Arulmozhi also saw the basic amenities including roads being laid with Asian Development Bank assistance at Samba Thottam.

At Andanapettai village, he inspected the works being carried out under the Tamil Nadu Rural Employment Guarantee scheme and later visited the Adi Dravidar girls hostel at Samanthanpettai.

Multimedia campaign

He also visited the stalls put up by various Government departments at the multimedia publicity campaign at Avuri Thidal here organised by the Department of Information and Public Relations.
