Cultural programmes mark Forest Week fete

Winners of competitions get prizes

Tuticorin: Forest Week celebrations, organised by the Department of Forests, concluded with a glittering closing ceremony here on Friday.

Rampati Kushwaha, Conservator of Forests, Tirunelveli, distributed prizes to winners of cultural competitions conducted for students.

Following is the list of winners of various events:

Painting: Group A ( LKG to Standard I) Helen Jeba Cynthia (X’an matricultation school, Tuticorin); Group B (Standard II to V) M. Iswarya (SRM School, Tiruchendur); Group C (Standard VI to VIII) T Hariharan (St Mary’s Boys Higher Secondary School, Tuticorin); Group D (Standard IX to XII) P Kowshik Prasanth (St Mary’s Boys Higher Secondary School, Tuticorin); Group E (college students) Aaron Martin (Kamaraj College).

Elocution: Group A Varsha H. Mahi (Johnson Nursery school, Tuticorin); Group B K. Gowsalya (Johnson Nursery School); Group C S. Meena Padmavathi (C M Higher Secondary School, Tuticorin); Group D K. Raghuramamoorthy ( St La Salle Higher Secondary School, Tuticorin); Group E R. Vignisha (A P C Mahalaxmi College, Tuticorin).

Quiz: Group B V. Davina (Holy Cross Anglo Indian Higher Secondary School, Tuticorin); Group C M.S. Muthukumaran (Sakthivinayagar Hindu Vidhyalaya, Tuticorin); Group D P. Kowshik Prasanth (St Mary’s Boys Higher Secondary School, Tuticorin); Group E R. Vignisha ( A P C Mahalaxmi College, Tuticorin).

Forest rangers, forest watchers, administrative staff and forest guards, who had put in meritorious service during this year, were honoured on the occasion.
