ERODE: The SSM College of Engineering, Komarapalayam and the International Textile Educational Consortium (ITEC) have decided to organise a ‘World Textile Conference on Apparel and Home Textiles’ at Jenney Club, Coimbatore for three days from August 16 to 18, said the ITEC Chairman and also the Chairman of the SSM Group of Educational Institutions M.S. Mathivanan on Saturday.
The conference will be supported by the M/s Carrera Inc, Italy, University Polytechnico, De Milano, Italy, Clothing Industry Training Authority (CITA), Hong Kong, Apparel Export Promotion Council, Ministry of Textiles, Union Government, Powerloom Development and Export Promotion Council and Textile Association (India), Erode.
Papers
Mr. Mathivanan said that papers pertaining to latest trends in garments and home textile sectors would be presented at the conference by eminent personalities from India, USA, Italy, Japan, China, Iran, Pakistan and South African countries.
“This international mega event is organised to provide ideal opportunity for the garment and home textile sectors to acquaint themselves with the latest developments in technology, processes, quality systems and fashion; and also to familiarise themselves with the prevailing trends in global trade and prospects for the future, said Mr. Mathivanan.
He added that the conference was likely to be attended by delegates from industry, as well as academicians, research scholars, Government officials, exporters and entrepreneurs from various parts of the world.
