Communist leaders' contributions recalled

Various speakers recalled the contributions made by Communist leaders P. Jeeva, P. Ramamurthy and B. Srinivasa Rao at a function here on Wednesday.

D.Pandian, State Secretary, Communist Party of India, suggested that both the Communist parties should give up the differences and join hands to protect society's welfare.

He said the Centenary celebrations of the three Communist leaders were organised to take the life history of these leaders to the present day youth.

R. Nallakkannu, CPI Central Executive Committee member, said the three leaders started their political career in the Congress Party, took part in the freedom struggle and then worked for the cause of the poor.

Chennai district CPI organised the programme.
