TIRUNELVELI: The Syndicate Committee of Manonmaniam Sundaranar University has appointed a 3-member committee to probe alleged plagiarism by Head, Centre for Information Technology and Engineering, N. Krishnan.

“Based on the committee’s report, the Syndicate will decide on the action to be taken,” Vice-Chancellor R.T. Sabapathy Mohan told reporters here on Thursday.

The allegation is that Mr. Krishnan’s name was cited as one of the authors of a research paper, reportedly lifted from an article published by a foreign author.

Similar to the State Award being given to the best teachers, outstanding professors of MSU would receive medals on September 5, ‘Teachers’ Day’.

Minister for Higher Education K. Ponmudy would formally inaugurate some post-graduate courses of MSU on August 16, the Vice-Chancellor informed.
