For delay in sending list of candidates
“We are unable to fill vacancies”
MADURAI: The Thiagarajar College of Preceptors here has criticised the employment exchange for not providing a list of candidates for lecturer posts in mathematics and physical science.
In a press statement on Wednesday, the principal, L. Saraswathi, said that the college had sought a list in September 2006. “We are not able to fill the vacancies owing to the delay on part of the employment exchange despite sending many reminders. A list sent by the exchange contained only one candidate’s name,” he said. Conducting an interview for only one candidate amounted to waste of time and it would be better had the employment exchange sent a list of at least 20 candidates. The college also sought details under the Right to Information Act, but there was no response. The college also asked about the qualified candidates registered and about the number of candidates in a list it would send at a time.
