KANCHEEPURAM: The Thazhambur police have registered a case against a group of male students of an arts college in Thazhambur for damaging to college property. According to the police, three students of the college — Joshwa, Kishorejoe and Pandian — ill-treated a professor who accompanied them in the college bus on August 7. Based on the complaint from the professor, the college principal suspended the students.
Protesting against the principal’s decision, a group of students boycotted classes on August 9 and staged a demonstration in front of the institution. Some of them pelted stones at the college building, the principal’s car and destroyed electrical fittings.— Staff Reporter
