An effort to save the national animal

Nagercoil: A signature campaign for tiger protection was launched at Marthandam recently under the National Green Corps in Kanyakumari district.

The co-ordinator of the Green Corps, Joe Prakash, inaugurated the campaign at a function organised at Government Girl’s Higher Secondary School at Marthandam.

10 lakh signatures to be mobilised

Mr. Prakash said that World Wide Fund – India was organising nation-wide signature campaign for saving the national animal and the programmes were aimed at getting more than 10 lakh signatures from the public.

The move was expected to create attitudinal changes among the people on tiger protection.
