CPI(M) office set on fire

TIRUVARUR: The office of Communist Party of India (Marxist) (CPI-M) was set on fire by some miscreants at Kordachery in Tiruvarur district on Sunday night. A cycle shop near the CPI(M) office was gutted in the fire.

Ten cycles were damaged. Police arrested six persons in this connection. The arrested are Mathi, Raja, Murugan, Sivakumar, Ramesh and Stalin. CPI(M) Tiruvarur district secretary I. V. Nagarajan condemned the incident. Meanwhile, in the murder of Poondi K. Kalaichelvam, DMK Tiruvarur district secretary, police arrested one more person _ Manalmedu Sadasivan _ on Sunday. With this, seven persons have been arrested in the case. Kalaichelvam was hacked to death by a group of nine persons at his residence at Kordachery on Friday.
