Tuticorin: A conference of telecom staff affiliated to the Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited Employees’ Union here on Saturday demanded better working conditions for Group C and D employees.
It urged the Centre to revise wages for telecom operators, technicians and wiremen, among other Group C and D category of workers, with retrospective effect from January 1, 2007. Perks such as food and transportation allowances should also be increased.
